Lucca

Lucca

Lucca left this earth December 13th, 2021 in the arms of his loving moms and by the side of his devoted brother, Vorno.

Born on July 3, 2007, Lucca, named for the Tuscan city, was the devoted Maltese pupper son of Suzanne Keller and Arlene Weston. Raised in Manhattan, while spending his later and final years in Provincetown, MA he was 14.6 years old.

He is survived by endless aunts and uncles who adored him, four exceptional vets, Cohen, Crain, Feaster and Hutchings and Jo-Jo his first and favorite groomer. He also leaves behind a beloved girlfriend Ronnie, a beautiful Cockapoo who despite their eventual overseas distance never left his heart. He also leaves an enormous precious group of Instagram friends from Australia, Canada, Italy, France, Korea, England, Czesch Republic, The Netherlands, and all over the United States and especially New York City.

He was preceded by his BFF Barclay, a Shih Tzu/ Havanese mix who welcomed him rambunctiously on the other side.

Lucca’s favorite activities were digging in the sand, wrestling with his brother, chasing squirrels in Central Park and cuddling. In truth Lucca, loved everything life gave him and lived life fully and with great enthusiasm.

Lucca loved the beach, his first and favorite toy Teddy, a nice roasted chicken and lap sitting.

Of Lucca’s many accomplishments, becoming certified as an Animal Assisted Intervention Dog with the Good Dog Foundation of NYC with his mom, Suzy was some of his proudest moments. Lucca and his mom volunteered with children’s hospitals, schools, assisted living centers and where anyone needed the comfort of the sweetest most gentle fluffy pup. He joyfully sat in laps bringing contentment and comfort to so many.

Yet most of all Lucca was loved, adored and cherished by his moms’. He was always on the ready to greet them with excitement, unabashed barking , tail wags, and kisses in the ear. He was their constant companion and the brightest spot of their day. He was the best big brother to Vorno teaching him the fine art of giving puppy dog eyes, showing him where the treats were kept, the process of wooing over strangers and always seeing the best in everyone.

We will think of him every day, he will never leave our heart, his memory will forever be a blessing.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give all your pups, animals and human loved ones a hug and a treat in honor of Lucca.
